average rate of 5% per annum. In recent years, the rapid pace of urbanization
and industrialization in China, India and Brazil has largely turned the focus
onto Africa’s available natural resources. In fact, 61% of the world’s
potentially available cropland is in sub-Saharan Africa. Coupled with Africa’s
economic growth is the increasing consumer demand for agricultural
products for domestic, regional and international markets. This presents
